Description

All three parts of the epic masterpiece The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers & The Return of the King – available as one download, featuring the definitive edition of the text, hyperlinked footnotes and page references, and 3 maps including a detailed map of Middle-earth.

Sauron, the Dark Lord, has gathered to him all the Rings of Power – the means by which he intends to rule Middle-earth. All he lacks in his plans for dominion is the One Ring – the ring that rules them all – which has fallen into the hands of the hobbit, Bilbo Baggins.

In a sleepy village in the Shire, young Frodo Baggins finds himself faced with an immense task, as the Ring is entrusted to his care. He must leave his home and make a perilous journey across the realms of Middle-earth to the Crack of Doom, deep inside the territories of the Dark Lord. There he must destroy the Ring forever and foil the Dark Lord in his evil purpose.

Since it was first published in 1954, ‘The Lord of the Rings’ has been a book people have treasured. Steeped in unrivalled magic and otherworldliness, its sweeping fantasy has touched the hearts of young and old alike.

Tolkien is incredible... His works are literally flawless ... He had such a gift for making his writing feel so detailed and indescribably real. I've been absolutely obsessed with these books and the movies ever since I watched and read them... I've read the books twice and watched the movies 19 times (literally) and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind as to whether or not these books are worth anyone's time. Everyone who takes the time to read them is richly rewarded with a story that will forever change their opinion of Fantasy, if not LIFE. So why in middle earth are u still reading this !? BUY THEM. READ THEM. they're worth whatever u have to pay for them, and u will never regret it.

$17.99 in Canada?? Really?! Did they have to import this or what? Man, some people were complaining about this being $12. Still, this is THE epic everyone should read, as evidenced by the movies that everyone saw. Read the books, it's like stretching the movies out and adding an amazing amount of detail and backstory. Fully immersive. This becomes an alternate history, it is that rich. I wish the price was lower, but I guess it's still cheaper than the physical books...

Why on earth would I pay 15$ for a book that 90% of the other online bookstores are charging $10 for??
