On the surface, the galaxy seems peaceful. Humankind prospers from the Capital World to the far reaches of The Corridor. But to those who can see the signs, it's clear something is wrong. Long, dark fingers are pulling strings inside the military, making clandestine deals with enemy states, and fulfilling some dark design.

Calvin is an intelligence agent working for the Imperial government. He's young, his methods are unorthodox, but he gets results. So when a former military hero steals a warship and goes rogue--threatening to start a war, Calvin is sent to eliminate him.

But as he chases his prey across the stars, he realizes they are both pawns in a shadowy chess game that shakes kingdoms, divides empires, and threatens civilization everywhere. And if he is to uncover the mystery and expose the conspiracy he must confront--and embrace--the darkest elements of the galaxy and throw himself, his career, and everyone he loves into the line of fire.

  • Very entertaining suspenseful sci-fi drama

    From backwoodsguy
I quite enjoyed this book. Unusual in that there are really two lead characters with almost equal billing. Both are likeable in their own very different ways. It was a puzzle from the beginning to try to solve why the fugitive would have done such a crime. The flawed captain is equally intriguing with his addiction and impulsiveness. The XO interesting as the strong and disciplined female commander. Great cast of characters and an action filled and interesting plot that never let up the suspense. Great read.

Well written and extremely fast paced. The plot sucks you Kim just like the captain and crew are sucked into the machinations of the mysterious group controlling things.
  • Sorry!

    From Anold Fan
A writer learning his craft, but I could be induced to read him again when he finishes this series. It is not well executed 'Star Trek’. Clumsy, but there were pages that I was turning as fast as I could, but not enough of them.
  • Excellent Read

    From TPA5
Fantastic sci-fi read with enough intrigue, action, and character development to keep it fresh the whole way through. Occasionally falls into some tropes, but never often enough or long enough to muddy the experience. I’m looking forward to reading the other books in the series!
  • Worth it

    From Sad2be
Couldn't put it down and its a book completely out of my genre...
  • Great book in the style of the old SYFY story's

Avery good space adventure. I haven't found many in the last few years that did not try to emulate Star Wars, this however seems to me to be of the old type of adventures from the early years of science fiction. It is very refreshing to find something that gets the imagination going without feeling you are reading something trying to be a movie. Again a very good tale keep it up Richard.

I really enjoyed this book. Just a few minor points I didn't really understand and some editing problems. Otherwise, I liked the plot and conflicts.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thank u for your book. I really enjoyed it a lot. The beginning of the book is a bit slow and I almost lost interest, but once you get going, it's really good. Can't wait to read nr 2! Keep writing, I'll keep reading! Nadia
