Ten years ago, Motley Crue's bestselling The Dirt—penned with rock chronicler extraordinaire Neil Strauss—set a new bar for rock 'n' roll memoirs. A genuine cultural phenomenon, this turbocharged blockbuster, with more than half a million copies in print, has now been reissued to celebrate thirty wild years with rock's most infamous band. No band has ever lived this hard, and lived to tell the tale. You won't just find sex, drugs, violence, fast cars, and every rock & roll cliche turned on its head inside, you will find uses for burritos and telephone handsets that you couldn't have even imagined in your wildest dreams. This is the classic book that's made countless ordinary mortals want to transform into lawless rock stars, and created countless spin-off books for Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, and Mick Mars, who hold nothing back in this outrageous, legendary, no-holds-barred autobiography.

  • Travelling back to my teenage years

    From Neardark72
What a trip this book is. I'm not a huge fan of these guys, and this book tells the story as it was, or maybe almost. They get honest by telling you their good and bad moves, looking back with the maturity they acquired at their past even with self derision. A great book. I just wish it could have been more complete, but still they might not remember everything or the book would have been too big.
  • Amazing

    From Jeff10200
I am not a reader what so ever. Once I opened this book I could not put it down. Its full of great stories.
  • Best rock and roll bio ever

    From Guykris
It's really amazing they survived their own lives. For anyone that remembers the 80's this story is awesome! Half way through the book I remember thinking, there's still half a book to go, how much more could these guys actually do? It's still my favourite and I've read them all!
  • Decadence at its best

    From Gobshyte
I've never been a big fan of Motley Crüe but I've always loved tales of meteoric rise in rock and roll. Every crazy thing you've ever imagined rock stars doing was done by these guys and they did it with a sneer and coke-encrusted nostrils. Quite simply, it's the greatest book of debauchery I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
